• This handbook has been produced by the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) to assist Vehicle Examiners (VE) in  locating vehicle data on specified vehicles such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), engine number locations, and wheel track etc. From this VEs can accurately locate difficult hard to locate numbers by referring to the Road Vehicle Descriptors (RVD and the Australian Motor Vehicle Certification Board (AMVCB) grid location chart.
