How to Calculate Fees Payable
1. Rebates or exemptions
2. Registration Fee
- $64.40 normal rate
- $32.20 pensioner rate
3. Road Safety Levy
- $25.00 normal rate
- $15.00 pensioner rate
4. Motor Tax
- Motor Tax is $13.00.
5. MAIB
Determine the number of "CC's" and then the MAIB Premium Paid (which includes GST and the Premium Paid Duty) from the MAIB Vehicle and Premiums Classifications Card, (refer to the MAIB Vehicle and Premiums Classifications card).
6. Inspection Fee
Include the Inspection Fee if the bike has been inspected. See Vehicle Inspection Fees.
7. Registration Plate Fee
Include the Registration Plate Fee for new registrations or if the bike is to be re-registered. Standard Plates are $16.10. (If retaining existing number plates then no plate fee will be applicable).
8. Duty
Duty is unique to each vehicle and is calculated on its market value. Applicable only for registration issue, re- issue & registration transfers.
