Location:

The project site starts just outside of Taranna, travelling south towards Port Arthur for approx 2.5kms.

Impact:

The design will consider the width of this section of road where some dips interfere with better sight distances.  Sealed shoulders could also be provided to further enhance safety.

Construction works are planned for the 2012/2013 summer season which provides the best result for road surfacing work.  This also coincides with peak tourist season.  Local tourist operators will be kept informed of the project and potential impacts.  Any works will be undertaken in accordance with an approved traffic management plan with delays kept to a minimum.  It is envisaged that one lane of traffic will be kept open at all times.

Current Status:

This project is currently in planning and design phase with construction programmed for the 2012/2013 year.
Survey work for this project will begin before December 2011.
