Ridgley Highway

Road Reinstatement

This project involves restoring the road surface on two sections of Ridgley Highway, totalling 3.3km.

The first section extends southwards from Mount Road to Cascade Road and the second section is from Mooreville Road at Ridgley to the southern end of Metaira Road.

The benefits of the project to road users will be overall improved road surface, widened and sealed road shoulders.

This project is funded by the State Government Community Roads Package.

Current Status

The contract for reconstruction works has been awarded to Tasmanian based company VEC Civil Engineering Pty Ltd.

Works are scheduled to commence in late November 2011 and extended for a period of five months, weather permitting.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements

The road works will be performed under approved Traffic Management Plan by VEC Civil Engineering Pty Ltd to ensure the least possible disruption to road users.

Delays to the travelling public can be expected in the vicinity of the construction works for the duration of the project.  At times traffic will be reduced to one lane.  Speed restrictions and altered traffic conditions will also be required.

Local residents will still have access to their property at all times and will be advised by the contractor of works affecting their property.

Your safety is important to us so please drive with care and follow the traffic signs and other directions.
