Illawarra Main Road

Overview

The Tannery (Poatina Main) Road Junction and the Bishopsbourne Road to Wickford project is jointly funded by the State and Federal Governments.

The Tannery (Poatina Main) Road Junction has an estimated cost of $2.7M and the Bishopsbourne Road to Wickford component of the project has an estimated cost of $3.6M.

Construction for the Poatina Junction and the Bishopsbourne section is planned to be completed by December 2010.

Bishopsbourne Road to Wickford

Purpose

  • To improve the standard of this section of road and sight distance for users

  • Widened and sealed shoulder
  • Improved sight distance to accesses

  • Improved ride quality
  • Consistent standard along Illawarra Road
  • Construction of a stock underpass to reduce delays due to stock crossing
