Roadworks have commenced on Sheffield Main Road (also known as Claude Road), the section south of Sheffield and north of the Jeffries Road Junction.

The work involves straightening the horizontal alignment and removing the dip in the vertical alignment.

These works will increase overall improved safety and visibility along this section of road.

This project is wholly funded by the State Government and has been awarded to Downer EDI Works Pty Ltd.

It is anticipated works will be completed by May 2012.

Temporary Road Closure

The section of Sheffield Main Road (also known as Claude Road) between Brown Hill Road and Spring Street will be temporarily closed to all traffic from 8:00am on Wednesday 18 January to 5:00pm Friday 3 February 2012 inclusive.  A detour will be provided along West Kentish Road.

All detour signage will be in place and motorists are requested to comply with all signage and directions by Traffic Controllers.
