West Tamar Highway Flowery Gully

null

Background

A section of road on the West Tamar Highway at the junction of Flowery Gully Road has been identified as needing safety improvements.  This section of the highway has narrow, unsealed shoulders which may reduce the safety of this section of the road.  The Road Safety Council approved funding under the State Government's Road Safety Levy for a road improvement project for this area.

Road works will include junction improvements as well as road realignment.  The objective of the project is to provide a more consistent, safer road environment consequently reducing the collision rates along this section of road.  The project will also improve access for the large number of vehicles that currently utilise the nearby quarry site, and accommodate the turning paths of trucks more safely.

Location of Works

The project is located on the West Tamar Highway in the vicinity of Flowery Gully Junction.
