Tasmanian Road Rules - Q&A

The Tasmanian Road Rules will be replacing the Learner Driver Handbook. It has information for all Tasmanians wanting to know about road rules and driving in Tasmania. It has information on

  • the road rules, using graphics
  • road safety
  • getting a licence and registering a vehicle
  • car driver knowledge test questions

You can buy it at Service Tasmania Shops ($5.00) and some Police stations or download the book from the links below. The book is divided into four parts to make downloading easier.

On 30 November 2009 changes to the Road Rules apply. Some rules referred to in the handbook may be out of date.  Get your fact sheets from Service Tasmania or at www.dier.tas.gov.au

On 30 November 2009 you can view a full version of the Road Rules 2009 at www.thelaw.tas.gov.au


Learner Driver Logbook

The logbook is available separately and you can buy a copy ($1.70) from Service Tasmania Shops and some Police stations. You can also get it on the Internet. You can still use older copies of the Logbook.
