FOR DRIVER LICENSING and VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS |
To confirm Evidence of Identity for a person
a minimum of three original and current documents (no photocopies or certified copies) must be provided.
EITHER
one document from Category A plus two documents from Category B
OR
two documents from Category A plus one document from Category B
(at least one document must show the persons Date of Birth). If one of the provided documents does not show the current Tasmanian residential address, a fourth document from the Evidence of Residential Address category is also required. |

Evidence of Existence(Linkage between Identity and Person) |
- Birth Certificate (not an extract or commemorative certificate)
- Australian Citizenship Papers
- Australian Passport
- Department of Immigration & Citizenship - travel documents, including a visa
- Department of Immigration & Citizenship - Certificate of Residence status
- Firearm Licence
- Overseas Passport/Visa
- Driver Licence (can be expired up to 2 years)
- Tasmanian Government Personal Information Card (displaying full name)

- Medicare Card
- Plastic Bank or Credit Card, with signature
- Tertiary Student Identification Card
- Department of Veterans' Affairs / Centrelink Pensioner Concession card
- Births, Deaths & Marriages Change of Name Registration / Marriage Certificate (not a church or celebrant document) or Deed Poll.

- Adoption Paper issued by Court
- Divorce Paper issued by the Court, indicating the name being reverted to
- Change of Name Registration issued by Births, Deaths & Marriages or Deed Poll
- Guardianship Order

- Certificate of Title
- Lease or Rental Agreement (current)
- Taxation Assessment Notice in relation to the premises (last or Current Year)
- Council Rate Notice (current)
- Utility Accounts less than 6 months old and relating to the street address (ie gas, electricity)

To Confirm Evidence of Identity for a body corporate (a company or an incorporated association) at least one document must be provided from the Incorporation Registration Documents category below. Additional documents may also be required to demonstrate the current Premises Address, Garage Address or a Change of Name of the body corporate. |
Incorporation Registration Documents

- Certificate of Registration (with Australian Company Number - ACN)
- Certificate of Registration of Change of Name (with ACN)
- Extract of the Company (with ACN)
- Certificate of Registration of Foreign Company stating Australian Registered Business Number (ARBN)
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Written Authorisation on letterhead to register the vehicle (from issuing Authority and citing the Act under which established)
