Marlborough Road Lyell Highway to Bronte
The Tasmanian Government has committed funding to upgrade Marlborough Road on a 3.90 kilometre section of road, from the Lyell Highway junction through to the township of Bronte.
Why is the Department of State Growth doing work on this road
The key objective of this project is to improve and strengthen the condition of the road surface by removing the existing road surface and replacing this with a new surface. The works will also include drainage improvements and line marking.
Construction commenced in September 2017 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of February 2018, weather permitting.
The road works will be performed under an approved Traffic Management Plan by the contractor Andrew Walter Constructions Pty Ltd to ensure the least possible disruption to road users. Speed restrictions and altered traffic conditions will be in place throughout the construction period to ensure a safe work place for construction staff.
Delays to the travelling public can be expected in the vicinity of the construction works for the duration of the project. Please obey all signs and allow sufficient time for travelling through these work areas.
