On the 9th of September 2016 Registrations and Licensing Services implemented the Approved Vehicle Certifier (AVC) Scheme. This scheme supersedes the Approved Engineering Signatory and Approved Seat Fitter arrangements with Registration and Licensing Services.
Effective 9 September 2016, owners or operators of vehicles will need to engage an AVC of their choice on a commercial basis. The AVC’s role includes providing advice to the client prior to performing modifications, inspecting, testing and assessing a modified vehicle to establish compliance with vehicle relevant vehicle standards. The AVC will produce a Modification Report with this information which will then be transferred to the Registration and Licensing data base.
Additional information and a list of service providers, including their AVC’s, are available from the following link: http://www.transport.tas.gov.au/vehicles/vehicle_inspections
