This November we will be sealing corners, fixing potholes and patching in preparation for resurfacing sections of Esk Main Road at St Marys Pass. This work will improve the safety and condition of the road for all road users.

Works will start on Monday, 22 November 2021, and should be complete by Friday, 26 November 2021, weather permitting. The road will be completely closed between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm to ensure the works can be completed safely. Emergency vehicles and school buses will be allowed through.

A detour can be accessed through Elephant Pass and the Tasman Highway. The detour will take approximately 30 minutes to travel between St Marys and Falmouth. This is about 20 minutes longer than the typical journey.

We appreciate this detour will cause inconvenience to road users and we thank the community for their patience while we complete these necessary works.

Road users should keep to the posted speed limits and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.

These repair and preparation works are the first stage of resurfacing sections of Esk Main Road through St Marys Pass. The resurfacing is expected to take place in early 2022. We will provide more information when dates have been confirmed.
