Improvements to New Norfolk and Huon Valley bus services

Improved bus services commenced for New Norfolk on Sunday 11 August 2019 and the Huon Valley on Sunday 18 August 2019, as part of ongoing statewide bus network enhancements.

To ensure bus services more accurately reflect the needs of local communities and provide better access to employment, education and other services, we have identified timetable improvements to improve New Norfolk services.

For New Norfolk, the main change sees the current 5:06pm X22 weekday service become the X23 Super Express between Hobart and Granton, stopping only at Glenorchy Interchange. This gives New Norfolk residents a quicker trip home.

To respond to demand the Huon Valley will get an additional route 710 weekday service to Hobart at 8:48am, an extra return service to Huonville at 4:39pm, and there will be an additional morning service to Huonville and an extra afternoon service to Hobart.

Timings to weekend services from Hobart to the Huon Valley have been adjusted to be more consistent with weekday departure times. The last weekend service from Hobart to Huonville will leave 30 minutes later, at 5:45pm to better suit people who finish work later.

State Growth has been working hard to get the new services running smoothly to get people to work and school on time and continues to monitor and adjust services as required.

Other recent improvements to the network include adjusting the times of Campania/Richmond and Tasman Peninsula services so what’s shown on the timetable better reflects travel times.
