Sealing Bruny Island Main Road

Work started on 14 October to seal the unsealed section of Bruny Island Main Road, between Alonnah and Lunawanna.

During the project we will also reshape sharp corners, make improvements to drainage, and install wildlife warning signs to make the road safer.

These upgrades will reduce dust along the road, and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

During the works the road will be reduced to one lane, with traffic lights in place and a lower speed limit. Plan for an extra ten minutes to your journey if travelling through the worksite, especially if you’re on the way to the ferry.

Works should be completed in early 2020, weather permitting.
