Public Passenger Vehicles
What is a public passenger vehicle (PPV)?
A Public Passenger Vehicle is a vehicle with:
- less than 10 seats* (including the driver), and used to carry passengers for hire or reward (small Public Passenger Vehicle)
- 10 or more seats*, including the driver (large Public Passenger Vehicle)
* Number of seats when vehicle was originally manufactured or if the vehicle has had seats added, the higher number of seats will apply.
Ancillary Certificates Information
In Tasmania to drive a PPV you are required to hold an Ancillary Certificate which is adjunct to your Tasmanian Driver Licence.
