Scottsdale/Bridport to Launceston

Proposed Route Change

Derby to Launceston via Bridport:

  • The route will now start and finish at Derby.
  • There will no longer be a service from Winnaleah as the current passenger demand is very low.
  • The route will travel via Bridport and Pipers Brook. Although this increases travel time for Derby and Scottsdale residents it enables more services, including new weekend services to be put on and allows a connection between Bridport and Scottsdale for locals.
  • No general access services will travel via Nunamara (Tasman Hwy via the Sideling) as the Lilydale corridor has a greater population than the Nunamara area and is growth area.
  • There will still be student only services travelling via Nunamara into Launceston schools and a new service in the afternoon will transport students from Newstead schools to Nunamara.

Bridport to Launceston via Scottsdale:

  • This route remains unchanged.

Scottsdale to Launceston via Pipers Brook:

  • The route will travel via Bridport and Pipers Brook. Although this increases travel time for Scottsdale residents it enables more services, including new weekend services to be put on.
  • Scottsdale residents will have an alternative option for quicker travel times by using the Bridport to Launceston via Scottsdale route which operates on school days.

Proposed Frequency Change

Derby:

  • Derby will have a decrease in frequency from four to two services per weekday.
  • However new Saturday and Sunday services will be provided with a daily return service on both days.

Scottsdale:

  • Similar frequency with six services per school weekdays.
  • Provision of four new services on both Saturday and Sunday.

Bridport:

  • Significant increase in frequency from two to six services per school weekdays.
  • Currently services only operate on school days.
  • Provision of four new services on both Saturday and Sunday.
