Adult student fares

The adult student fare applies to students from the start of the year in which they turn 19.

To be eligible to receive this fare, the student must be:

  • studying full time (600+ hours per year), and
  • attending an education facility recognised by the Department of Education.

These students will be required to present student identification to access the adult student fare, which is 50% of the full adult fare. If travelling on a Metro and / or Tassielink service, or a Merseylink urban area service, the adult student fare is a flat rate regardless of how many fare sections or zones the student is travelling.

Students over the age of 18 may be eligible to travel for free between home and school during the school year if they meet the criteria for Special circumstances bus pass.
