Evandale Road duplication - Launceston Airport to Breadalbane
This project will duplicate Evandale Road between the Launceston Airport and Breadalbane as part of the Roads Package to Support Tasmania’s Visitor Economy.
The project includes increasing 1.9 kilometres of Evandale Road from two lanes to four, from the entrance to the Launceston Airport to the Breadalbane roundabout. A flexible safety barrier will be installed in sections along the road for increased safety.
Duplicating Evandale Road will improve travel time reliability, improve road safety conditions and cater for the growing number of passenger and freight vehicles travelling on the road.
We will be working between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm on weekdays.
Speed reductions will be in place at all times during the project.
During our working hours, there will be occasional lane closures.
Road users should allow additional time when travelling through the area, and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
Works started in March 2021 and expected to be completed in early 2022, weather permitting.
