Lindsay River Bridge closure (Western Explorer)
We are repairing Lindsay River Bridge on Norfolk Road, Tarkine.
To keep everyone safe while we work, Norfolk Road, part of the Western Explorer touring route, is closed at the Lindsay River Bridge at all times until late August 2022.
If you're travelling between Temma and Corinna you will need to detour via Corinna Road and Blackwater Road.
From September the bridge will be open under traffic management until the project is finished in late September 2022.
Please allow extra travel time while the detour is in place, keep to speed limits and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.

In October 2021, an inspection conducted on Lindsay River Bridge found that one of the timber beams had suffered structural damage.
We did emergency repairs in November 2021 and reopened the bridge to light vehicles, with a load-limit of 5 tonnes placed on the bridge to keep all road users safe.

We will be working from Monday to Sunday between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
We will let you know in advance if we need to do any work outside these times.
