Works will start 17 March and are expected to be completed by 19 May with impacts to traffic beginning 3 April, weather permitting.
The strengthening involves fixing carbon fibre systems to the underside of bridges.
While the carbon fibre is being installed we will need to reduce the speed limits to minimise vibration on the bridge.
Temporary speed humps will be installed to slow traffic to make sure that vibrations on bridge are minimised.
Works will take place between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm. Traffic delays are expected to be under 8 minutes.
During working hours, speed on the Brooker Highway will be progressively reduced to 40km/h in both directions, over a distance of about 160 metres leading up to the bridge.
The speed limit will be reduced to 40 km/h after hours during the carbon fibre curing period, between 3 April and 19 May.
All lanes will remain open at all times.
