Batman Bridge – A-Frame Maintenance Painting
We are painting the Batman Bridge as part of essential maintenance to prolong the life of the bridge.
We are painting the Batman Bridge as part of an essential maintenance program.
Painting will prevent corrosion to the bridge structure and is a cost-effective way of extending the life of the bridge.
The works will involve high pressure cleaning and removal of previously painted surfaces.
All wastewater and debris will be contained for off-site disposal.
We will start working on Monday, 23 August 2021.
We expect to complete the works in September 2022.
We will working from Monday, 23 August 2021 between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm from Monday to Saturday, weather permitting.
There will be night shifts between 5:30pm and 7:00am for four nights at the completion of the works to remove work platforms.
We will let you know in advance if we need to do any work outside these times.
The works involve the use of machinery which generates some noise.
We will make every effort to minimise noise by arranging the work in stages at different locations and turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.
There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
A reduced speed limit will be in place during and after work hours and may affect travel times.
Road users should allow up to eight minutes extra travel time during this work.
No pedestrian access will be allowed on the bridge during the later stages of the work. We will advise the community ahead of this change taking place.
