About the project

The project includes increasing 1.9 kilometres of Evandale Road from two lanes to four, from the entrance to the Launceston Airport to the Breadalbane roundabout. A flexible safety barrier will be installed in sections along the road for increased safety.

1About the project

Duplicating Evandale Road will improve travel time reliability, improve road safety conditions and cater for the growing number of passenger and freight vehicles travelling on the road.

2Traffic impacts

We will be working between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm on weekdays.

Speed reductions will be in place at all times during the project.

During our working hours, there will be occasional  lane closures.

Road users should allow additional time when travelling through the area, and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.

Members of the community were given the opportunity to provide information to inform design options in late 2019.

You can download design documents, including the Roll Plan and cross section of the road design, below.

Works started in March 2021 and expected to be completed in early 2022, weather permitting.
