COVID-19 Update - Public Transport
Public transport is operating as normal in Tasmania. Here’s what you need to know.
Face masks are no longer required on public transport.
Individuals can choose to continue wearing masks if they wish, and some public transport providers may still require face masks to be worn based on their individual risk assessments.
Face masks and other other COVID-safe behaviours remain an important way to help reduce the risk of COVID-19. Although not mandatory, mask wearing is still strongly recommended where physical distancing is not possible.
Public transport is exempt from gathering restrictions and social distancing requirements. Where possible, maintain a distance of 1.5m from people outside your household.
You no longer need to check in using the Tasmanian Government Check In Tas app on public transport.
For service updates, contact your bus operator.
