Masks

You must wear a face mask on public transport unless you:

  • are aged under 12 years or undertaking primary education
  • have medical certification (or other documentation from a medical practitioner) of a physical or mental health, condition or disability that makes wearing a fitted mask unsuitable.

This requirement applies from 12.01am Tuesday  December 2021 until further notice.

Other health directives

Public transport is exempt from gathering restrictions and social distancing requirements. Where possible, maintain a distance of 1.5m from people outside your household.

When boarding public transport you must check in using the Tasmanian Government Check In Tas app. If you don’t have a smartphone, others in your group can check you in, or you can keep a personal record of your trip by taking note of the vehicle number, route number, and the time and locations of where you board and get off the vehicle.
