The Department of State Growth is undertaking a review of school bus services throughout Tasmania. This review has identified a number of proposed changes that aim to improve the school bus networks in the regions of:

  • Wynyard and Burnie
  • Devonport
  • Port Sorell and Wesley Vale
  • Launceston (Glenara Lakes)
  • Richmond and Campania
  • Copping and Dunalley
  • Lauderdale and South Arm

During the consultation period, parents and caregivers of students living in effected areas were asked to provide feedback regarding proposed school bus services changes in their region. The consultation period is now closed and State Growth is currently assessing feedback prior to finalising the changes which will be announced in two releases.

  1. For students travelling to school in Wynyard, Burnie, Devonport, Latrobe, Port Sorell, Wesley Vale, Launceston and Campania, final changes to the school bus network will be announced in Term 4, 2020 and will be implemented at the start of the 2021 school year.
  2. For students living in Copping, Dunalley, Lauderdale and South Arm, final changes to the school bus network will be announced in Term 1, 2021 and will be implemented after Term 1, 2021.
