From Monday 28 June 2021, the amount due for your vehicle may be found by checking your vehicle registration, or by contacting us on 6166 4888 or qrp@stategrowth.tas.gov.au. This will enable those with renewals due in the first few days of July an opportunity to pay prior to its expiry.

For August renewals onwards, quarterly amounts and payment numbers will be included in your renewal notice.

4How do I find my payment number for BPAY?

The biller code is 227165 and your payment number and amount due may be found after 28 June 2021 by checking your vehicle registration, or by contacting us on 6166 4888 or qrp@stategrowth.tas.gov.au

Payment numbers for three month registrations will be available from 28 June 2021. This will enable those with renewals due in the first few days of July an opportunity to pay prior to its expiry.

You are unable to use the six or 12 monthly payment numbers to pay quarterly.

5Why can’t I see my payment number to pay quarterly?

We are currently working on the system changes to support quarterly payments.

Payment numbers will be available from 28 June 2021.

Registrations that expire prior to 1 July do not have the option to pay quarterly for this bill, but will at the next renewal period.

6Why is the quarterly payment more than half of the six monthly payment?

The amount payable will be calculated based on the number of days, and any duty, MAIB premiums or administration fees payable.

The administration fee and MAIB surcharge have been waived for quarterly registrations as transitional relief while we review and modernise the car registration fee structure.

7I have direct debit set up, can I change my payments to quarterly?

Yes. From 28 June, you may change your payments to quarterly by filling in the direct debit form.

8My renewal is due before 1 July, why can’t I pay my bill quarterly?

We are currently working on the system changes to support quarterly payments and these will apply to renewals from 1 July.

If your bill is due before 1 July, you can continue to pay in six or 12 monthly instalments and will be able to pay quarterly on your next renewal.

9Can I be reminded to pay my bill?

If you’re concerned about forgetting to pay your vehicle registration you can sign up for an SMS reminder on the day its due by providing your mobile number to Service Tasmania on 1300 135 513.

In addition, you may also sign up for secure electronic delivery with BPAY View of your renewal notice to your internet banking. Most financial institutions provide a reminder service when the bill is delivered and also prior to expiry. Details of how to enrol are on your registration renewal notice.

10Can I receive my renewals online or via email?

We are unable to send renewal notices via email; however, if receiving renewals is more convenient for you we have an online option using BPAY View.
