Bass Highway west of South Esk River Bridge
The Tasmanian Government is upgrading the Bass Highway west of South Esk River Bridge, heading south west for 600 metres.
About the project
We will rebuild and strengthen the base layers of the road, and then resurface the road. The works will strengthen and improve the condition of the road, and make it safer for all road users
Works will start Monday 18 November and should be finished by Friday 20 December, weather permitting.
Roadworks will take place from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Some traffic changes will be in place to keep our workers and all road users safe. There will be a reduced speed limit and lane closures during the works, but one lane of traffic will remain open at all times.
An alternate route is available, and will be promoted on signs at key locations near the project.
