Bass Highway – Latrobe Junctions Safety Improvements

The Australian and Tasmanian Governments have allocated funding for safety improvements to be implemented at a number of junctions on the Bass Highway, Latrobe.

Why is the Department of State Growth doing work on this road?

This project will improve safety at the following intersections:

  • Moriarty Road roundabout
  • Bass Highway and Gilbert Street intersection
  • Bass Highway and York Street intersection
  • Bass Highway and Wattle Hill Service Station.

Construction

Bass Highway and Gilbert Street intersection:

Gilbert Street, between the Bass Highway and Cherry Hill Road in Latrobe, will be closed from Monday, 23 April through to Friday, 26 May 2018. Traffic will be able to access Gilbert Street via the Moriarty Road exit off the Bass Highway.

All works will be completed by June 2018.

To ensure the safety of road users and construction staff, please obey all traffic signs and allow extra time for travelling through these work sites.
