Bridge Strengthening Works 2018/19

The Tasmanian Government is committed to strengthening Tasmanian bridges on key routes to retain the existing levels of service for heavy vehicle freight and community access.

Highland Lakes Road, Bark Hut Creek Bridge

The Department of State Growth has upgraded the bridge over the Bark Hut Creek, on Highland Lakes Road north of Bothwell. Strengthening works were completed in January 2019.

Piney Creek Bridge, Heemskirk Road

Piney Creek Bridge is located on Heemskirk Road, about 14 kms north of Zeehan on Tasmania's West Coast. Strengthening works were completed in January 2019.

Farm Creek Bridge, Murchison Highway

Farm Creek Bridge is located on the Murchison Highway. Strengthening works were completed in January 2019.

Dundas Rivulet Bridge, Zeehan Highway

Dundas Rivulet Bridge is located on the Zeehan Highway on Tasmania's West Coast. Strengthening works were completed in December 2018.

Leslie Station Creek Bridges, Zeehan Highway

The two Leslie Station Creek Bridges are located in two locations on the Zeehan Highway, near the intersection with Murchison Highway. Strengthening work on both bridges is complete.

Jordan River Bridge, Highland Lakes Road, at Apsley and Jordan River Bridge, Midland Highway at Jericho

The Department of State Growth has upgraded the bridge over the Jordan River at Apsley, on Highland Lakes Road and at Jericho, on the Midland Highway. Strengthening works on both of these bridges are now complete.
