Evandale Road Shoulder Sealing

Why is the Department of State Growth doing work on this road?
This work will increase safety for all road users by providing wider sealed shoulders. Sealed shoulders reduce loss-of-control crashes by providing additional sealed surface for a driver to recover control of their vehicle if they drift out of their traffic lane.
Construction and traffic management
Works started in late September and will be completed by the end of January 2019, weather permitting.
The road works will be undertaken in about one kilometre sections of road starting at Leighlands Road heading towards the Launceston Airport roundabout. Working hours will be 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, with work on the occasional Saturday.
Reduced speed limits at the work site are necessary for the safety of workers and the travelling public, so please slow down, approach the work site with caution and follow all traffic control instructions.
At times traffic will be reduced to a single lane and this may cause delays. Passengers should allow extra time when travelling to the airport.
