The Tasmanian Government has committed funding through the Visitor Economy Roads Package to make improvements to Sumac Road and Roger River Road.
About the project
We will be upgrading about 7.7 km of Sumac and Roger River Roads, between Kanunnah Bridge on the Arthur River and Buffs Road, south of Roger River.
During this project we will resurface the road, improve drainage and do maintenance on the road edges.
This project will provide a safer, stronger, and longer lasting road.
Upgrading the road will make the road more accessible, providing another way to access the Tarkine Drive experience, a popular touring destination for visitors and locals.
Works start on Monday 25 November, and should finish by the end of February 2020, weather permitting.
There will be some temporary traffic changes to keep our workers and all road users safe.
There will be lane closures and a reduced speed limit in place during our working hours, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with the occasional Saturday morning.
Please keep to speed limits and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
If you have any questions, you can contact the Project Manager, Zac Hepburn on 0419 146 615 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
