Roadside Tourism Signs

Roads and Jetties Act 1935

Tourism signs are designed to direct visitors to features and facilities of interest.

If you own or operate a commercial tourism business or natural, cultural or heritage features/attractions you may apply for approval to erect tourism signs on State roads.

Councils, tourism associations or anyone wishing to obtain approval for a tourism precinct, themed route/trail or visitor radio may apply.

Applicants must satisfy a range of criteria to demonstrate provision of a substantive visitor experience.

More information regarding specifications for design, installation and siting can be found in the Tasmanian Roadside Signs Manual.
