The Tasmanian Government has assumed a caretaker role ahead of the election for the Tasmanian House of Assembly. It is important during this time that Tasmanian Government resources are not used to communicate political material. As such, no political or election material will be placed on this site.

The Tasmanian Roadside Signs Manual (the Manual) is an information resource for administrators in State and Local Government, whose role is to approve or administer signage issues.

The Manual is based on Tourism Signing Guidelines originally introduced in January 2000 as part of an integrated approach to visitor information, including signage.

Tourism signage across Tasmania is now approved in a manner that provides consistency through the use of colour, using a set of principles and standards that reduce confusion and maximise effectiveness without affecting the safety of road users.

The Manual is updated from time to time as policies and processes are reviewed.
