How do I apply for a rebate?

Visit Service Tasmania with your Tasmanian licence or evidence of identity and:

• For healthcare, veteran and pensioner primary cardholders:
  • Submit an Application for Pension Concession and 40% Motor Tax Rebate (PDF 322.7 KB) (MR163)
  • This will need to be submitted each time the vehicle is renewed.

Please note: If you wish to renew online, you will still need to submit this form in person to claim a refund.

• For farmers:
  • Submit an Application for 40% rebate of motor tax to the registered operator of a commercial goods vehicle who is engaged in agriculture (PDF 100.9 KB) (MR166)
  • This only needs to be submitted for the initial application
