Olinda Grove Roundabout Signalisation
We are installing traffic signals on the approach to the Olinda Grove roundabout to improve traffic flow and safety.
We will be installing traffic signals on the approach from Mount Nelson to the Olinda Grove roundabout to improve traffic flow and safety.
Vehicles can queue during the morning peak period on the Southern Outlet off-ramp to Olinda Grove which can extend onto the left northbound lane of the Southern Outlet. Traffic signals will meter the traffic from Mount Nelson when there is queuing on to the Southern Outlet.
Vehicles exiting the Southern Outlet will be prioritised through the Olinda Grove roundabout to reduce queuing on the Southern Outlet.
There will be delays at times for vehicles travelling on Olinda Grove from Mount Nelson towards the Southern Outlet or Proctors Road. This will be dependent on traffic volumes on the Southern Outlet.
The traffic signals will only operate when queuing occurs on the left northbound Southern Outlet off-ramp onto Olinda Grove.
We will also be installing traffic monitoring cameras on Olinda Grove and near Proctors Road to help us better manage traffic, particularly during peak periods.
We will provide further information about the operation of the traffic signals ahead of construction.
The project is located at the Olinda Grove Road interchange off the Southern Outlet.
We will be installing the traffic signals and cameras in spring 2025. This work is expected to take three months to complete, weather permitting.
The Olinda Grove Roundabout Signalisation is a jointly funded project between the Tasmanian Government and the City of Hobart.
