Olinda Grove Roundabout Signalisation
The Olinda Grove Roundabout Signalisation project will improve safety and travel times for road users and improve traffic flow.
The Department of State Growth will carry out detailed design, field investigations and project planning to erect traffic signals at the Olinda Grove Roundabout.
The Olinda Grove Roundabout Signalisation project will:
The metering of signals will help regulate traffic flow to solve the problem of excessive queuing and delays at the roundabout at peak times. The signals would only operate at peak times.
The work will also include the erection of CCTV cameras connected to the State Growth Traffic Management Centre. These cameras are only for the monitoring of traffic flows, to ensure signals are effectively managing traffic congestion in peak periods.
The project is located at the Olinda Grove Road interchange off the Southern Outlet. A map of the project area and illustrations of the signal locations are included on the next page.
Field investigations will be carried out next to the roundabout and along nearby roads during October-November. These investigations will include geotechnical and environmental assessments to inform the project planning and detailed design.
You may see workers or vehicles in the road corridor. Geotechnical investigations in the road corridor may require temporary traffic management, with minor travel time delays.
Further information will be provided as planning progresses and prior to commencement of the roundabout upgrade works.
