The 2019-2020 Budget provided $63.2 million for general access bus services.
The Bus Services Review project aimed to
- Ensure this funding achieves the right balance of smart and accessible route design.
- Design a network offering better access to employment, education and services.
- Improve the social connectivity of Tasmanians through effective public transport.
The Review developed the new network using a set of principles for
- Network Purchasing and Design Approach (PDF 939.2 KB).
- Key Planning.
It also used
- An economic demand model called SWISS (see below for more information).
- General Access Service Standards (PDF 1.1 MB) (see below for more information).
- Targeted consultation with bus operators, key stakeholder groups, councils and community groups.
- Public consultation.
