6Kingborough park and ride facilities

New park and ride facilities at Huntingfield and Firthside will give people greater choice about how they travel into Hobart’s CBD. They have been designed to be safe and inviting spaces, with better parking facilities and passenger transport services.

The Firthside park and ride will include improving the existing roadside bus stops and informal carpark located near the intersection of Browns Road and Groningen Road. We have started work on the Firthside park and ride facility, which is expected to be completed in early 2022.

The Huntingfield park and ride will include improving the existing bus stops and informal carpark located adjacent to Huntingfield Avenue south of the Algona Road roundabout. This location provides convenient access for both bus services and commuters and has the capacity for high-quality bus stop facilities and extensive parking.

Work on the Huntingfield park and ride facility is underway.

We are working through a list of stops to upgrade in the Kingborough area to be compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA). More details will be provided as the project progresses.
