1Express bus services - Huntingfield X01 and X08

It’s now faster to travel and easier to commute between Kingborough and Hobart with new weekday Huntingfield Park and Ride express services every 30 mins during peak times!

Huntingfield Express – X01

New express bus services operate on weekdays during the morning and afternoon peak periods, excluding public holidays.

There are eight services to Hobart in the morning and six services to Huntingfield in the afternoon.

  • The morning services to Hobart depart Huntingfield Park and Ride, Stop A, and travel direct to Hobart.
  • The afternoon and evening services from Hobart depart Macquarie Street, Stop D1, and travel direct to Huntingfield Park and Ride
Huntingfield Express via Kingston Central – X08

New express bus services operate on weekdays outside peak periods, excluding public holidays.

There are 10 services to Hobart and nine services to Huntingfield Park and Ride between 10:20 am and 9:10 pm.

  • The services to Hobart depart Huntingfield Park and Ride, Stop A, and travel to Hobart via Kingston Central.
  • The services from Hobart depart Macquarie Street, Stop D1, and travel direct to Huntingfield Park and Ride via Kingston Central.

2Express bus service - Blackmans Bay X07

The new X07 express trial started on 31 January 2022 and operates on weekdays during the morning and afternoon peak periods, excluding public holidays.

There are seven services to Hobart in the morning and seven services to Blackmans Bay in the afternoon.

  • The morning services to Hobart depart Wells Parade and travel via Roslyn Avenue, bypassing Kingston Central and stopping all stops on Macquarie Street.
  • The afternoon and evening services from Hobart depart Macquarie Street, Stop D1, stopping all stops on Davey Street, bypassing Kingston Central and travel via Roslyn Avenue before finishing on Wells Parade.

3Express bus service - Channel X13

The new X13 express trial started on 31 January 2022 and operates on weekdays during the morning and afternoon peak periods, excluding public holidays.

There are five services to Hobart in the morning and five services to Margate and Snug in the afternoon.

  • The morning services to Hobart depart Snug (Charlton St), stopping all stops in Snug and Margate, then travel express via the Southern Outlet, bypassing Kingston and stopping all stops on Macquarie Street.
  • The afternoon and evening services from Hobart depart Macquarie Street, Stop D1, stopping all stops on Davey St, bypassing Kingston and travel all stops from Margate to Snug (Charlton St).

4Express bus service - Huonville X710

The X710 express started on 12 July 2021 and operates on weekdays during the morning and afternoon peak periods, excluding public holidays.

There are four services to Hobart in the morning and four services to Huonville in the afternoon.

  • The morning services depart Skinner Drive bus station hourly from 6:05am (stopping all stops to Leslie Vale, bypassing Kingston and stopping all stops on Macquarie St)
  • The afternoon services, depart Macquarie Street, Stop D1 hourly from 3.17pm (stopping all stops on Davey St, bypassing Kingston and stopping all stops from Leslie Vale)

5Kingborough park and ride facilities

New park and ride facilities at Huntingfield and Firthside are now open. Both sites offer better pedestrian access, lighting, and safety measures, and new shelters and bicycle storage facilities.

The Huntingfield Park and Ride has parking for 174 vehicles, including motorcycle and accessible spaces, uncdercover storage for 26 bicycles, a quick drop off lane, and five toilets and a baby change table.

The Firthside Park and Ride (Browns Road) has parking for 44 vehicles including motorcycle and accessible spaces, and undercover bicycle storage.

The Hobart City Deal is a shared 10-year vision between the Australian and Tasmanian Governments and the Clarence, Glenorchy, Hobart and Kingborough councils.

City Deal Partners will work collaboratively to deliver the Greater Hobart Transport Vision by progressing actions to provide a reliable, sustainable and cost e­ffective transport system, with a focus on active and public transport.
