Concessional registration

• Buses with three axles; if
  • their Gross Vehicle Mass is above 12 tonnes
  • you will drive them for less than 60,000 kilometres over 12 months.

The level of rebate will be the difference in motor tax between a 3 axle bus and 2 axle bus.

1. Complete the relevant form:
   1. Application for 3 Axle Bus Concession (MR95), or
   2. Interchangeable Trailer Concession (MR96), or
   3. Statutory Declaration - Application for 40% rebate of motor tax to the registered operator of a commercial goods vehicle who is engaged in agriculture (MR166).
2. Submit the form at Service Tasmania, along with:
   1. your evidence of identity.
3. Pay the fee
   1. the replacement plates fee (interchangeable trailers and certain farm vehicles only).

Your rebate will start when:

• your registration is first issued, or;
• you next renew your registration.

• Red text on  yellow background starting with  “C” number plates;
  • unless you are applying for a farm vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass between 4.5t-12t.
• Your certificate of registration.
