About the project
We are upgrading the Devonport-bound lanes within a 3.22km section of the Bass Highway, north of the Don River Bridge, Don.
Timing
We will be undertaking investigations on the Devonport-bound slow lane of the Bass Highway at Don between Monday, 3 August 2026 and Friday, 7 August 2026, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, weather permitting.

About the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program
The Freight Capacity Upgrade Program (FCUP) supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
- improve freight productivity
- improve efficiency and network reliability
- improve road safety for all road users
- reduce maintenance costs.
