Oakleigh Rail Underpass Barrier Upgrades
We are upgrading safety barriers to make roads safer for everyone.
About the project
We will be installing guardrail at the Oakleigh Rail Underpass on the Bass Highway, Burnie between Edwardes Street and Wilson Street.This work will improve the effectiveness of the safety barrier system, providing greater protection for road users.
Timing
We will be working from:
- Monday, 14 September 2026 to Friday, 25 September 2026 during the night between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am
- Wednesday, 16 September 2026 to Friday, 2 October 2026 between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm.
A reduced speed limit will be in place, and one lane will be open in each direction at all times. Expect minor delays and thank you for your patience as we complete this essential work.
