Oakleigh Rail Underpass Barrier Upgrades
We are upgrading safety barriers to make roads safer for everyone.
About the project
We will be upgrading the safety barriers on both the Cooee-bound and Wivenhoe-bound rail underpasses on the Bass Highway, between Edwardes Street and Wilson Street, Burnie.
Timing
We will be carrying out these barrier upgrades periodically from Monday, 18 May 2026. The work is expected to be complete by the end of August 2026.
While work is taking place, there will be a reduced speed limit and frequent lane closures through the work site.
