We will be repairing and strengthening Wallaby Creek Bridge, Frankford Road.

We will be strengthening the Wallaby Creek Bridge on Frankford Road from Monday, 18 May 2026 until mid‑July 2026, weather permitting. Work will be carried out underneath the bridge between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
During construction, the speed limit through the work site will be reduced to 60 km/h during work hours. Once strengthening materials are applied, the speed limit over the bridge itself will be reduced to 60 km/h at all times, including outside work hours. This is because the strengthening materials are sensitive to vibration and need time to set properly. Keeping speeds low 2.4/7 helps reduce vibrations and ensures the bridge upgrade is completed safely and successfully.
These works are being completed as part of Tasmanian Government’s Freight Capacity Upgrade Program (FCUP).
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
