About the project
We are investigating improvements at the Cleghorne Avenue intersection on the West Tamar Highway in Riverside.
Timing
To help understand the improvements we will make at Cleghorne Avenue, we will be carrying out some investigations at the Riverview Road intersection on the West Tamar Highway from Monday, 17 August to Friday, 28 August 2026.
We will be installing temporary traffic survey cameras to collect information on traffic volumes and traffic patterns.
These cameras are not for traffic enforcement. They don’t track speed, driver behaviour, or any personal details.
Funding
The project forms part of the Australian and Tasmanian governments’ $22.5 million commitment to targeted upgrades along the West Tamar Highway between Exeter and Launceston.
