We are strengthening bridges around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
We will be strengthening the Legana-bound side of Cormiston Creek Bridge on the West Tamar Highway in Riverside.
The work will take place from Monday, 8 December 2025 to late February 2026, weather permitting.
We will be working underneath the bridge between 6:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
The project involves the application of strengthening materials that require lower vibrations from vehicles crossing the bridge.
The speed limit through the project site (Legana-bound) will be reduced to 60 km/hr at all times throughout the project
The success of the project is dependent on road users keeping to the lowered speed limit while the strengthening materials do their job, even outside work hours.
