About the project
This work is Package B of our East Tamar Highway Priority Projects.
Mount Direction / Hillwood
- We are upgrading the East Tamar Highway at the Hillwood Road and Dalrymple Road intersection and investigating options to extend overtaking lanes to the north and south of the intersection.
- We will also investigate potential bridge barrier improvements and bus stop upgrades at the Signal Station Tavern and Signal Lane.
South of Magazine Road
- We are investigating options to extend the southbound and northbound overtaking lanes through this section of the highway and reviewing the width of the road.
- We will also be considering upgrades to the lighting at bus stops.
Current work
Surveying work will be carried out on the East Tamar Highway between Magazine Road and Batman Highway from Monday, 5 October 2026 to Thursday, 8 October 2026.
Surveyors will be working in the road reserve and there will be no impact to traffic at this time.
