Arthur Highway - East of Forcett
We will be strengthening and repairs two sites on the Arthur Highway under our Freight Capacity Upgrade Program.
We are strengthening bridges and roads around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
About the project
We have identified two sections of the Tasman Highway that require repair and strengthening works.
Combined the projects will cover 1km of the Arthur Highway.
Timing
Construction on Stage 1 will take approx. 12 weeks to be complete and is estimated to begin early 2024 and Stage 2 is anticipated to commence in late 2024.
About the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program
These works are being completed as part of FCUP.
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
- improve freight productivity
- improve efficiency and network reliability
- improve road safety for all road users
- reduce maintenance costs.
