About the project

The Break Me Neck Hill Remediation Project involves the slope stabilisation of a 90m section of embankment on the southern side of The Tasman Highway near Nelsons Creek bridge.

The main aim of this project is to improve safety for all road users by securing the slopes on the side of the road and stopping loose rocks from falling onto the road.

The stabilisation will be done by placing mesh screening over the slope and drilling anchors along the top and bottom of the slope to support the screening.

Timing

Work will start on Monday, 20 May 2024 and is expected to be completed by late July 2024, weather permitting.

During construction works will be carried out between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.

During working hours there will be a reduced speed limit and we will need to close one lane of traffic. Please keep to speed limits to keep our workers and the community safe and follow the directions of traffic controllers. Please allow around eight extra minutes when travelling.
