We are strengthening bridges around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
We will be repairing and strengthening Catos Creek Bridge, Huon Valley.
We will begin working on the Catos Creek Bridge between Monday, 2 February 2026 and mid-July 2026, weather permitting.
We will be working underneath the bridge between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
The project involves the application of strengthening materials that require lower vibrations from vehicles crossing the bridge.
The speed limit through the project site will be reduced to 60 km/hr during work hours, however, after application of the strengthening materials, the speed limit over the bridge itself will be reduced to 20 km/hr at all times.
The success of the project is dependent on road users following the speed limit while the strengthening materials do their job, even outside work hours.
This map below shows where we will be working in the Huon Valley.
