About the project

We are starting work on the Claremont Park and Ride, located on Claremont Link Road, between Myella Drive and Main Road Claremont.

This project is part of the Greater Hobart Park and Ride program.

The park and ride will provide greater opportunities for the community to catch public transport between Claremont and central Hobart. The facility will include parking for cars and motorcycles, bicycle storage, and all-weather bus shelters

Timing

We will start work on Monday, 28 July 2025 and expect to finish by late March 2026.

We will be on site from 6:30 am with work taking place between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.

We may sometimes need to work weekends, but we will do our best aim to minimise this. We aim to complete our work during the day but we might sometimes need to work at night. If there are any changes to our work schedule, we will notify those impacted in advance.

Traffic impacts

There will be a reduced speed limit of 40 km/hr on Claremont Link Road for the duration of the work and occasional temporary lane closures.

Oversized or over mass vehicles should contact the project team at Claremont-parkandride@stategrowth.tas.gov.au to ensure we can assist them to travel safely through the site.

There will be temporary changes to pedestrian access near the project site, with temporary footpaths being constructed. There will be temporary changes to an unofficial bus stop located on Claremont Link Road, we will work with the transport provider to discuss an alternate location.

Greater Hobart Park and Ride Program

Work is progressing on the other two Greater Hobart park and ride facilities with construction expected to be complete on the Midway Point Park and Ride in October 2025 and public consultation for the designs of the Rokeby Park and Ride in the coming months.

We will aim to minimise impacts, such as noise and dust, to residents and impacted stakeholders.
