We are strengthening bridges around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
We will be repairing and strengthening Fleurtys Rivulet Bridge on the Huon Highway.
We are strengthening Fleurtys Rivulet Bridge on the Huon Highway south of Franklin from Monday 13 October 2025 to December 2025, weather permitting.
We are working underneath the bridge between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
The project involves the application of strengthening materials that require lower vibrations from vehicles crossing the bridge.
The speed limit through the project site is reduced to 40 km/hr during work hours, however, after application of the strengthening materials, the speed limit over the bridge itself will be reduced to 20 km/hr at all times.
The success of the project is dependent on road users adhering to the speed limit while the strengthening materials do their job, even outside work hours.

These works are being completed as part of the Tasmanian Government’s Freight Capacity Upgrade Program (FCUP).
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
The Australian and Tasmanian Governments have committed combined funding of $100 million towards the FCUP program.
