Highland Lakes Road Safety Upgrade
We are doing safety upgrades for the Highland Lakes Road between Melton Mowbray and Miena.
About the project
We are upgrading the Highland Lakes Road between Melton Mowbray and Miena to improve road safety for all road users, using funding provided by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program
The upgrades will include rub rail motorcycle protection, replacing existing post and cable fencing, extending safety barriers, and providing safety barrier end terminals on four bridges.
Funding
Funding for this project has been secured through the Australian Government’s 2022/23 Black Spot Program.
Timing
Construction is expected to begin in early 2024.
